Public facts for customer review
- Active operating authority Authority is active and not out-of-service (49 CFR §387).
- Double-broker screening Flags entities with broker-only authority and no carrier authority (49 USC §14808).
- Public insurance filing FMCSA financial-responsibility filing status is shown; this is not a policy review or confirmation of cargo coverage.
- Identity match Registered name matches the FMCSA legal name of record.
- Fleet consistency Power units on record are greater than zero.
- Chameleon-carrier screening New authority under 180 days is flagged for extra scrutiny.
- Formal safety rating Current FMCSA safety-rating record is shown when available; the display is not a safety endorsement.
Source records are context, not a decision. Your organization reviews the information and chooses its own counterparties. An FMCSA insurance filing does not establish policy terms or shipment-specific cargo coverage.
FMCSA explains that Safety Measurement System data is performance information and should not be read as a federal safety rating or a complete conclusion about a carrier’s safety condition. Read FMCSA’s SMS guidance.
